5 Essential Oils For Anxiety

Anxiety in etymology is apprehension caused by danger, misfortune, or error.  It is uneasiness of mind and restless dread.  Anxiety disorders affect 13.3% of the population at the UNITED STATES CORPORATION.  Anxiety disorders do not receive the same recognition as other mental health issues, such as bipolar or schizophrenia.  However it causes mental unrest and affects a person’s life negatively.  Anxiety increases depression and dependency on drugs and alcohol.

Anxiety can be caused by a variety of things.  Someone’s environment can cause them to develop anxiety.  If the environment is unsafe, unloving, controlling, abusive, and/or stressful, this can perpetuate anxious behavior.  Chemical imbalance, especially the brain chemistry can be heavily affected if someone experiences trauma of some sort.  Trauma and stress can affect how the brain functions and its structure.  The way in which the brain would normally respond, now responds differently due to the emotional trigger that is now embedded in the emotional memory bank.

Many people with anxiety are taking medications with side effects that are detrimental.  These medications are putting a mask on the hurts and again, not getting at the root cause.  People are still anxious and their anxiety is with them for years even being on the medication.  Thankful to progressive medicine, holistic methods, and spiritual practices, one can overcome their anxiety.  Remember the power is within you.

I have always known of essential oils, but it was not until recent years, about 4 years ago that I was introduced to essential oils with therapeutic properties.  A lot of times when people take medication, they are really taking a piece of a plant mixed with other synthetic compounds.  Essential oils are in their whole form.  Their molecular structures are very similar to that of a person.  It is because of molecular structure similarities, that our bodies recognize these essential oils and can utilize their benefits.

Our cells are oil based and as I have stated time and time again we are made up of trillions of cells. Essential oils have the ability to penetrate the cellular wall and get rid of a virus and/or repair DNA and molecular structures. The three ways essential oils can enter the body are: smell, taste, and topically.  Some essential oils need carrier oil, such as fractionated coconut oil to be gentle on the skin.  For example oregano is considered hot oil and needs fractionated coconut oil.  Aromatherapy has been used since ancient times to stimulate the brain and relax the body.  What happens when we smell is the scent of the oil goes through the olfactory bulb and sends a signal to the brain.  Smelling the oils, whether in a bottle or a diffuser can calm and soothe anxious feelings.

I recommend using these 5 essential oils if you suffer with anxiety:

Serenity

Serenity is a tranquil blend.  It lessens anxious feelings and calms the senses.  It has a unique, yummy blend of plants, botanical, extracts, and essences.  Ho Wood, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Roman Chamomile are some of the plants used in this blend that pack a relaxing punch.  The scent is a warm, vanilla, floral, and herbal smell.  I personally think it smells like a vanilla cupcake.  I like to put it on my wrists.  You can put it on your wrists and let is seep into your pores.  The bottoms of the feet are another great place to place the oil.  You have 2,000 large pores on the bottoms of the feet.  When essential oils are rubbed on the bottoms of the feet they have a systemic affect on the body.  The entire body relaxes.  You can use this oil throughout the day or before you go to sleep

Roman Chamomile

Roman Chamomile is one of my absolute favorite essential oils.  It smells like blueberry muffin or blueberry cake in my opinion.  Whenever I use this oil I feel euphoric, grounded, exuberant, relaxed, and incredibly peaceful.  You can have so much fun with this oil.  A few years back I made blueberry muffins with it.  I felt relaxed the entire day.  Putting two drops in your water can have a positive affect on your mood.

Wild Orange

The peels of several oranges are used to create this beautifully abundant citrus oil.  It uplifts and boosts mood.  Wild Orange also aids in losing weight.  Sometimes people can be anxious about their weight.  Lose weight the carefree way by adding 1-2 drops in your water everyday first thing when you Grand Rise.  This essential oil creates an uplifting environment.  It is high in monoterpenes, which have stimulating effects on mood and cognitive function.  They enhance cognition as well.

Lavender

Lavender comes from the Latin Lavandula and has a light, flowery smell.  Internally is my favorite way to incorporate this essential oil into my life.  It tastes amazing with 1-2 drops of lemon essential oil coupled with it.  Before you pour the water in the glass, add the drops of essential oil in.  Make sure when using essential oils that you pour them in a glass.  They will burn through plastic.  Lavender is oil that eases anxious feelings and induces a calm and restful sleep.

Balance

When someone is anxious they are experiencing imbalance and uneasiness.  Balance is a blend of essential oils designed to keep the body in homeostasis.  This is considered to be the grounding blend. The essential oils in this blend are: blue tansy, chamomile, Ho Wood, Frankincense, and other fabulous oils.  This blend brings harmony to the mind and body.  It has the ability to balance emotions.

I hope you take control of anxiety.  Anxiety does not belong to you because you were created to have balance.  Do your research on what methods work for you.  People have seen profound effects using essential oils.  There are testimonials HERE on how essential oils have helped with anxiety.  Anxiety does not mean you are weak or fearful.  It means that you need some self-care and you are a warrior to still keep pushing in a society where mental issues can be frowned upon.  You are strong and you are a survivor.

Take care of yourselves and forgive yourselves.  You are meant to be here and you have a great purpose.  Much love!

P.S. I do not support doTERRA, nor would I ever work for them again due to the discrimination I received. However I love the essential oils and I use them. I see their benefits. It is unfortunate that the people that work there at Corporate do not uphold the same standard as the beloved oils.
