From Classical Training to Purpose-Driven Performance

My journey with music began at age two, when I started teaching myself melodies by ear long before I received formal training. At age nine, I picked up the violin and began years of classical study that would lay the foundation for everything that followed.

At fifteen, I was selected as a violinist apprentice to internationally renowned jazz trumpeter Renee McLean through Artists Collective, where I was immersed in the rich legacy of jazz, mentorship, and artistic excellence.

That experience expanded my understanding of music as more than performance, it became a vehicle for connection, expression, healing, and impact.

I later earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, graduating early while continuing to develop as a performer, educator, and creative leader. During college, I broadened my musical foundation by learning to play a variety of instruments and further refined my ear-training skills, deepening my understanding of music across genres and disciplines.

Driven by a passion for helping others discover their own musical voice, I founded my own violin studio, teaching students virtually, in their homes, and from my private studio. Through personalized instruction, I helped aspiring musicians build confidence, technique, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

My commitment to service eventually led me to establish the Hertz Over Hurts Foundation. What began as an effort to help students from impoverished communities gain access to musical instruments has evolved into a broader mission of healing and support.

Today, foundation proceeds help fund complimentary Violin Reiki sessions for individuals in need and support volunteer services provided through my holistic health coaching practice for those facing illness and life challenges.

Whether I'm performing, teaching, mentoring, or serving my community, my mission remains the same: to use music as a force for healing, empowerment, and transformation.
